Terms of service

Last updated 20 October 2026. These terms are between you and LankaByte. By creating an account or placing an order you accept them and our privacy policy.

What we provide

We register and renew domain names, host websites, and build one website per plan: Starter is a static site of up to five pages, Business is a WordPress site, Premium is a WooCommerce shop. Each plan includes maintenance and support while it is paid.

Prices

Each package has a monthly price for hosting, the website build and our maintenance and support. A new domain is added at a yearly price, because domains can only be bought a year at a time; on monthly billing it is invoiced once a year, in advance. Paying the package yearly costs 15% less than paying monthly for twelve months, with the domain included. If you bring your own domain, there is no domain charge. If a price changes, we tell you before the renewal invoice. Prices are in LKR and .lk prices include the registry's VAT.

Domains

Domains are registered in your name and remain yours. .lk names are registered by hand with LK Domain Registry; availability shown on this site is a guide until the registry confirms it. If a name turns out to be taken, we refund what you paid for it. Domains renew yearly; if a renewal is not paid before expiry, the domain may be lost.

Paying

New orders start once the invoice is paid. Renewal invoices are sent before the due date. Hosting that is more than 7 days overdue is suspended and switches back on when paid. After 30 days overdue we may close the account.

Your website

You give us the words, photos and logos for your site and confirm you have the right to use them. Once the build is paid, the website and its content belong to you. We include up to two rounds of changes before launch; later changes are covered by support within reason, and bigger additions are quoted.

Fair use

No illegal content, spam, malware, phishing or material that infringes someone else's rights. We may suspend a site that harms our servers or other customers, and tell you why.

Backups and liability

We back up hosted sites daily and restore them on request, but we cannot promise that no data is ever lost. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months.

Leaving

You can cancel at the end of any term from your panel. On request we send you the website files and help transfer the domain.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
